AWW: What’s one lesson you believe is essential for entrepreneurial success?
Sam White: Every successful business has had failures. Understanding that failure is part of the journey is crucial. It takes a hell of a lot of energy to be successful, and you don’t have spare energy to drain by focusing on your failures. When you get a win, swim in it and fill that tank.
How important is it to build a strong team?
I cannot stress this enough: you cannot and should not do it all yourself. Surrounding yourself with equally talented and ambitious people is essential. You have to trust people, but you also have to accept that there are a thousand different ways that something can come into life and form that will all work, and that your way doesn’t have to be the only way.
Can you share an example of how partnerships have empowered your business?
It’s extremely true that I am, so obviously, who I am and what I’m about. That I will only pull into my sphere people that actually like that and engage with that. Collaborations with like-minded brands and founders allow me to build a supportive community that shares my vision and values.

What advice would you give to women who want to start their own business?
You have to trust people, but you also have to accept that there are a thousand different ways that something can come into life and form that will all work. Being open to collaboration and diverse approaches is vital. Surround yourself with equally talented and ambitious people who are as excited about your business as you are.
Looking ahead, what are your next goals for Stella Insurance?
Our plan is to change the game, full stop.
