Of course, they’re not as PDA-heavy as say, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. Cameron and Benji keep a pretty low profile when it comes to their marriage.
But whenever the couple does make a rare outing together, it’s clear they’re both head over heels in love with each other.

2014
In May 2014, Cameron and Benji were first introduced to each other by Nicole Richie — who is married to Benji’s twin brother, Joel Madden.
Nicole reportedly played matchmaker because she thought they would be perfect for each other.
By June of that year, Cameron and Benji were spotted out and about together on numerous occasions, confirming the rumours that they were indeed a couple.
Then, in August 2014, during an interview with People, Benji spoke about his relationship with Cameron and said, “I’m really happy right now.”
And just before Christmas, it was confirmed that the ‘happy’ couple were engaged.
2015
On January 5, 2015, Cameron and Benji were married at her home in Beverly Hills in an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family. This included Nicole, Joel, Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Samantha Ronson and Robin Antin.
Then, following their wedding, Cameron and Benji kept a relatively low profile.
2016
With that being said though, in May 2016, Cameron spoke about her marriage to Benji during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“Someone asked me, ‘What’s your favourite thing about being married?’ and I said, ‘I just learned so much about myself. I didn’t know these things. I would have never known them if I didn’t have my husband to help me,’” the actress said.
2019
In early January 2020, Cameron and Benji announced they had welcomed their first child into the world on December 30, 2019.
“We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden. She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family,” the couple wrote on Instagram.
They went on to say that while they were overjoyed, they also wanted to protect their daughter’s privacy.
“So we won’t be posting pictures or sharing any more details, other than the fact that she is really really cute!”
2020
In April 2020, Cameron opened up about being a mum.
During an Instagram Live with Katherine Power, CEO of Who What Wear, Cameron said:
“I love being a mother. It’s the best, best, best part of my life.
“I’m so, so grateful and so happy and it’s the best thing ever and I’m so lucky to get to do it with Benji and we’re just having the best time. It’s so great. I’m just thrilled.”
2024
Since announcing the birth of Raddix, Cameron and Benji primarily stayed out of the limelight.
Of course, they shared the occasional tribute post to one another on Instagram — for instance, for Cameron’s 51st birthday in August 2023, Benji shared a picture of his wife along with the lovely caption:
“It’s a very happy birthday to my beautiful wife, best friend, best partner in everything, ride or die, greatest [mum] to our little girl, @Avaline wine boss, family chef, advisor, collaborator and everything else. You do it all… So grateful to have our family and I am one lucky man — I know that seems obvious but it really is nice to say it out loud now and then when you’re feeling it.”
And in March 2024, the couple announced they had welcomed their second child into the world!
“We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our son, Cardinal Madden. He is awesome and we are all so happy he is here! For the kids’ safety and privacy we —won’t be posting any pictures — but he’s really cute. We are feeling so blessed and grateful… Sending much love from our [family] to yours,” they wrote on Instagram.
Furthermore, in October 2024, Cameron couldn’t help but gush during an appearance at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit and said, “My husband, he’s just the best.”
2025
In early 2025, Cameron came out of retirement – she starred in the Netflix film Back in Action with Jamie Foxx.
And, in honour of the film’s release, Benji penned a lovely tribute for Cameron on Instagram.
“This is my QUEEN. I celebrate this BAD ASS WOMAN. Wife, mummy, friend, partner, boss, and lover. We just hit 10 YEARS married on January 5 and every year only gets more fulfilling. It’s special. Never perfect [but] always real, always reliable. Every day getting to have my best friend with me ride or die… what a beautiful life. I am GRATEFUL,” he wrote.
“We are SO happy to see you BACK IN ACTION! Congrats baby!!”
