The 2025 Golden Globes awards ceremony has just wrapped up, and a lot happened, to say the least!
For instance, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande wowed everyone on the red carpet with their Wicked-inspired ensembles.
And Nikki Glaser had the audience in stitches with her opening monologue.

There was a mini Moulin Rouge reunion
While Ewan McGregor was being interviewed on the red carpet, Nicole Kidman interrupted by kissing Ewan on the cheek and quickly asking how he’s been, giving us a wonderful Moulin Rouge reunion.

The Only Murders in the Building trio were heartwarming
It seems interrupting interviews was the thing to do at the Golden Globes this year; while Selena Gomez was being interviewed on the red carpet, her Only Murders in the Building co-stars Martin Short and Steve Martin crashed it.
After a little bit of banter, Steve and Martin then heartwarmingly sang Selena’s praises for her performance in Emilia Pérez.

The Wicked stars wore Elphaba and Glinda-inspired looks
Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande (to no-one’s surprise) wore looks inspired by their Wicked characters. Cynthia rocked a very Elphaba look while Ariana opted for a dress similar to the yellow dress Glinda wears in the Broadway version of Wicked.

Nikki Glaser nailed her opening monologue
Host Nikki Glaser had the audience in stitches during her opening monologue. She started by hilariously describing the Golden Globes as “Ozempic’s biggest night” before lightly roasting everyone from Stanley Tucci to Harrison Ford. Read more about Nikki’s monologue here.

“Money goes in escrow, be nice to the PAs, and grab some snacks from the Krafty table because hotel mini-bars are a scam,” she joked.

Jennifer Coolidge hilariously called out the double standard in Hollywood
Jennifer Coolidge presented the award for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy and hilariously called out the double standard in Hollywood. She joked that she once worked with Billy Bob Thorton and he was allowed a pet coyote on set but she wasn’t allowed her “overweight twins”.

During the ceremony, Glenn Close and Elton John shared a sweet hug!

Jodie Foster won her fifth Golden Globe
Jodie Foster won her fifth Golden Globe: Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television. In her acceptance speech, Jodie sweetly thanked her sons and wife, saying “I love you forever.”

Demi Moore won her first-ever Golden Globe
Demi Moore won her first ever Golden Globe at this year’s ceremony. In her emotional acceptance speech, Demi explained that someone once told her that she wasn’t a serious actress and would never win an award.
“This is the first time I’ve won anything ever as an actor,” she said before sharing how grateful she is. “This is a reminder that I do belong.”
Demi won the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy award for her performance in The Substance.

Harrison Ford had to shush Anthony Mackie
While presenting the award for Best Motion Picture – Animated, Harrison Ford became exasperated with Anthony Mackie. As Harrison went to read out the winner, Anthony mimicked a drum roll and Harrison put his hand up and shushed him. It was very funny!

Anna Sawai shouted out Kathy Bates in her acceptance speech
When Shōgun star Anna Sawai won Best Actress in a Drama Series, she thanked the voters for choosing her. “I’d vote for Kathy Bates any day, so thank you,” Anna then added.

Karla Sofía Gascón shared the poignant symbolism behind her dress
Emilia Pérez star Karla Sofía Gascón shared while accepting the award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy that she wore a bright orange dress to symbolise that “light always wins over darkness.”
Karla then emotionally continued with, “I am who I am, not want you want.”
