International Women’s Day (IWD) is almost here!
The annual global holiday is always held on March 8 and celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
International Women’s Day also highlights serious issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.
What is the theme of the International Women’s Day 2025?
Well, the International Women’s Day organisation has said this year’s theme is ‘Accelerate Action.’
According to World Economic Forum data, at the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158 to reach full gender parity.

The IWD organisation is hoping we can collectively Accelerate Action for gender equality.
However, the United Nations (UN) has said the 2025 theme is ‘March Forward.’
“The theme March Forward reminds us that progress is not just about reflection but about taking decisive, bold steps to turn our commitments into action,” Senator the Hon Katy Gallagher said of the UN’s theme.
Honestly, both themes sound good to us…
