Princess Anne has said that she doesn’t remember the accident that put her in hospital in June 2024.
“No, nothing,” Anne recently told the Press Association when asked what she remembers from the incident. During the accident, she sustained a concussion and minor injuries consistent with impact from a horse’s head or legs.
“I know where I thought I was going and that was to go to the chickens, no, nothing to do with horses,” she continued.

“I don’t have any idea what I was doing in the field, because I never normally went that way. It just reminds you, shows you — you never quite know, something [could happen] and you might not recover.”
Anne was first admitted to Southmead Hospital on June 24, 2024.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace revealed the 73-year-old had “sustained minor injuries and concussion” while at her Gatcombe Park estate.
Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, Princess Anne’s husband, gave an update two days after she was admitted. He told well-wishers and media gathered outside the hospital, “She’s doing fine — slow but sure.”
He then added, “She is recovering well, thank you. We are both profoundly grateful to the medical team and hospital support staff for their expert care — and to the emergency services who were all so wonderful at the scene. We are both deeply touched by all the kind messages we have received from so many people near and far. It means a great deal.”

Anne was discharged from Southmead after five nights.
Then, three weeks after the accident, Anne resumed her public duties and went on to be crowned the ‘hardest working royal‘ for the fourth year in a row.
