King Frederik and his eldest son Crown Prince Christian were spotted supporting Denmark in the Men’s Handball Final against Germany. Denmark secured the gold, and His Majesty took to Instagram to post a picture and congratulate the team, “Congratulations on the gold ??”.

In the Olympic Village to meet with the Danish team, Queen Mary of Denmark made the time to visit the Australian team. Never forgetting her Tasmanian roots, the Danish royal spent her time chatting with various athletes and taking selfies with each of them. Later in the evening, her and King Frederick were spotted at the Opening Ceremony. The Olympics holds a special place in both of their hearts as they met during the Sydney 2000 Olympics when then Prince Frederick was competing for Denmark.
